Medical Weight Loss Program

The DFW Bariatric Institute offers a Medical Weight Loss program designed to kickstart weight loss through nutrition education and medical supervision. This program can be utilized by new patients and by patients who have previously undergone weight loss surgery. This comprehensive four-month program is comprised of appointments with a Dietitian and consultations with a Physician’s Assistant, who may prescribe medication.

How Does the Medical Weight Loss Program Work?

Patients in the Medical Weight Loss Program will meet with a Physician’s Assistant to discuss their weight loss goals and assess their overall health. The Physician’s Assistant may prescribe a prescription appetite suppressant. Patients will then have a series of one on one appointments with an experienced Dietitian who will create customized meal plans and answer questions about nutrition and weight loss. After four months, another appointment will be scheduled with the Physician’s Assistant to evaluate progress and determine next steps.
